This challenge is based in the Play Book Tag groups on Shelfari. We will start the game at midnight EST on
January 5th so please sign up prior to that.
This challenge will actually be a RACE with a start and finish. The objective is for a player to be FIRST to capture all 200 top tags. The top 200 tags are listed at
www.shelfari.com/books/tags.
Tags will be captured by reading books that have as many tags as possible. The game is truly a race. Everyone starts on the same day and the first person to capture all the tags is the winner and that ends the game.
So, say a book is tagged historical fiction, fiction, England, novel, and favorites. The person who read this book would have five tags with that first read. He or she would then try to read a second book that had some of the remaining 195 tags and so on and so forth until all the tags were completed. The tags do not have to be captured in any particular order. Not sure how long this activity will last - - it could be over pretty quick seeing how people consume books around here.
Each person must track their reads in a personal discussion entitled "Capture the Tag - [Shelfari name]. So, when you complete a book, you'd list the book and all the tags that you've captured with it.
Of course, we'll be giving participation points for reviews that you include of books that you've read for the challenge.
I will probably continue in this race till I finish it, just to see how long it will take me to do that :)
